Monkey Bunny Inc., Kataklyzm Productions, Curbside Productions, LLC, Elly Blaise, Sacred Frequency, The Lush Fern, Fairy Couture and Haberdashery, VJ Peter D Rabbit with support form King Records, Back Section (Detroit), and Head Inna Bin invite you to join us in co-creating the Midwest’s Best - 3D, Blacklight, Costumed, Multi-day, Multistage, Music, Education and Arts Activist Campout! For 2019, our theme is #SOLARPUNK! Solarpunk is a possible future that focuses on craftsmanship, community, and technology powered by renewable energy, wrapped up in a coating of Art Nouveau blended with organic biomimicry and indigenous architectural aesthetics.
We will explore this theme and it couldn’t be at a more critical time. All around us are the signs of an Earth in peril. One of the biggest changes this year stems from analyzing all our processes to make them more sustainable and less harmful to the environment.
This event is also going to be the Meanest Birthday Party (for the mean team! Mark Mean & Ketta Mean) and Charlee Pepper and Peter Daniel Pepper’s 4th anniversary!
Our mission is to create regenerative radically inclusive events, that educate as much as they entertain, and focus on community connections by showcasing diversity in local and regional music, art, and people while employing environmentally sustainable practices and charitable giving.
We bring together communities that aspire to create regenerative and sustainable connections to the Earth, to each other, and to their highest selves so that thru shared stories we can receive knowledge and understanding. We do this by creating visually stunning environments that are synergistic sonically and facilitated by a talented team of volunteers, production staff, and workshop instructors. By putting a focus on creating inclusive, diverse, and safe environments – we ensure all people are welcome, some behaviors, however, are not. Please read our Principals section to ensure that our values are in alignment.
We want everyone to show up with their best self forward. We treat everyone - whether they are attendees, staff, neighbors or strangers with respect. Our friendly staff will be on hand to mediate conflicts as needed, please don’t hesitate to reach out to them. We want all participants to be mindful of how their words and actions can affect others around them, and how every action we take can help make the event safer, more inclusive, and the vibrations that much better.
As an LGBTQIA organization with a strong focus on diversity, we value the equal rights and liberties of all genders, sexual orientations, minorities, ancestries, ages, and immigrants/travelers.
We strongly encourage composting, recycling, and up-cycling and our events are "leave no trace". This means taking our waste and trash with us and leaving a space cleaner than we found it. We will have compost and recycling on site. Any trash that we bring, we should expect to take with us. Please no single use plastic bottles or bags. We will of course make exceptions for medical/personal reasons or for waste storage and disposal. This extends to Styrofoam coolers. We respectfully request you not bring these items onsite unless they fall under an exception.
We are a collaborative effort ran by a dedicated board of investor activists, not a top-down enterprise. We acknowledge events work better when committed collaboration and community teamwork are a focus. Radical participation is a Commitment to showing up to contribute to the benefit of the overall community. All consenting and able participants are asked to share 2 hrs of their time volunteering in the community, including guests and artists.
After a ton of debate and a whole lot of searching, we have picked our charity partner for the event. The entire board agrees that this organization's principles and values align with our own and that their work at this is critical in the Anthropocene era.
Extinction Rebellion is an international movement that uses non-violent civil disobedience in an attempt to halt mass extinction and minimize the risk of social collapse.
We have already donated $500 USD (it converted to GBP £414.69) for every pass purchased over the 100th we will donate another $5 to this organization.
“Anthropocene” is a widely proposed name for the geological epoch that covers human impact on our planet. But it is not synonymous with “climate change,” nor can it covered by “environmental problems.” Bigger and more shocking, the Anthropocene encapsulates the evidence that human pressures became so profound around the middle of the 20th century that we blew a planetary gasket. Hello, new Earth System. Hello, Anthropocene.
